Making and Using Fonts?

Greetings,
I know this isn't technically a font-based group, but I figured you might
have some ideas.

My daughter has created her own web-page and would like to make a custom
font for some of the content. She knows that there are ways of
editing/creating fonts but doesn't know how.

Are there any basic sharewares out there for doing simple black and white
fonts?

And since others won't have the font to view, I seem to recall a way for the
page to download the font info when someone views it, so they see the right
font. Am I remembering correctly?

Well, big "never mind" here

In my searches I learned that XP comes with a neat little proggie called
'eudcedit.exe' which is a font creator/editor.
